Temporary Road Closures For Dock View Road
Dockview Road, Barry will be closed in sections from Monday 17 October until Friday 16 December to all as Wales & West Utilities carry out essential gas pipe replacement work. The work will make sure homes and businesses in Barry continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas now and into the future.
So that road users, the local community and Wales & West Utilities workforce are kept safe, sections of the road near to the junctions with George Street, Lower Pike Street, and Robert Street will be closed at times as the work progresses. Clearly signposted local diversions will be in place for traffic during each closure. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
Wales & West Utilities have worked closely with the council to plan this work to keep disruption to a minimum.
Francis Kirk, Wales & West Utilities Programme Controller for Wales said: “Our work in Barry is part of our multi-million pound gas pipe replacement programme across Wales and the south west of England.
“We know this work will be inconvenient, but it really is essential to make sure homes and businesses in the area continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas now and into the future.
“Once we start work, people can always approach the team on site with any questions. Our Customer Service Team is also ready to take your call if you have any questions about our work.
