The Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Cllr Neil Moore, has welcomed the signing of the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal.
Cllr Moore said: “The City Deal will bring benefits to all ten local authority areas and my cabinet colleague Cllr Lis Burnett and I have negotiated hard to ensure that the Vale of Glamorgan will share fully in these.
“The aims of the City Deal – to improve productivity, create jobs, stimulate innovation, invest in infrastructure, and provide support for business – mirror many of those of the Vale of Glamorgan Council. The deal that has been signed today will enable the Council to continue to fuel the regeneration of the county that is gathering pace year on year.
“The Deal will also ensure that the Vale of Glamorgan continues to be centre stage in the growth of the region and is able to maintain the momentum that has been generated by the regeneration of Barry and the recent announcement of significant investment in the St Athan Enterprise Zone.
“The challenge now is to ensure that the deal and the investment that it brings have a real impact on the lives of residents of the Vale of Glamorgan. This Council is absolutely committed to realising the full potential of each and every community that makes up the county.”
