Win Food Hampers By Taking Part In Accomodation Survey

This article is old - Published: Sunday, Jun 12th, 2016

You could be in with a chance to win one of two hampers of locally sourced food by taking part in an online survey looking at the type of holiday accommodation available in Ceredigion and Powys. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The hampers include cheese, biscuits and chocolate as well as other local produce, which are all sourced from local food producers in mid Wales, the hampers are worth £50 each. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The simple online survey was launched in April to determine how much and what kind of holiday accommodation we currently have in the area. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Councillor Gareth Lloyd, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Economic and Community Development, said: “The questionnaire asks about all types of accommodation available, from B&Bs to hotels, caravan and camping sites, about how much providers charge for their accommodation, how many months of the year it is available and how many people the business employs. We’d be grateful if people took a few minutes to complete the survey.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The tourism market is a very important part of the local economy and the results of the survey will inform future tourism policy in the county. It is being conducted on behalf of Visit Wales by Ceredigion County Council and Powys County Council, in partnership with Aberystwyth University. You may already have been contacted on our behalf by Tourism undergraduates from Aberystwyth University. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Visit Wales has asked all local authorities in Wales to conduct a similar study and Ceredigion and Powys County Councils are the first to start the process. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

If you are a local tourism business operator we would be very grateful if you would take part in the survey. Please go to https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BEDSTOCK_EN to join in. The survey will close on 30 June and winners will be announced after the closing date. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
