Dyfed-Powys Police Is Proud To Protect
Dyfed-Powys Police has joined forces with national policing colleagues to highlight how and why it is ‘proud to protect’ its communities.
The Proud to Protect campaign is a National Crime Agency (NCA) initiative aimed at sharing what it does, to build confidence in the NCA and wider law enforcement.
Dyfed-Powys Police is proud to be a unique force with a unique policing challenge. It serves the largest Geographical area including towns, villages and isolated rurality, but with a population of only half a million.
Chief Superintendent Aled Davies said: ““We serve it all and we are proud to be protecting what is one of the safest places in the UK.
“A lot of our geography is rural and that brings challenges in itself by effectively policing these areas and working closely with farmers and our rural communities that can be vulnerable to crime. Officers take time to get to know their communities and are proud of the relationships they have formed through Neighbourhood Policing Teams.
“But there is much more to us than the breath-taking area we protect and the communities we are proud to work with.
“We have highly-skilled, professional people working to tackle the most complex investigations into serious and organised crime and to protect the more vulnerable members of our communities from despicable crimes such as sexual abuse and domestic abuse.
“We are a unique police force with a unique challenge and we are proud to protect our communities 24-hours a day.”
To support the campaign on social media, Dyfed-Powys Police has posted a short video of Inspector Steve Thomas, a Force Incident Manager at the Force Communications Centre, talking about why he is #ProudtoProtect.
Inspector Steve Thomas said: “I’m proud to protect as being part of the force’s initial policing response where all 999 and 101 calls are received, my team and I ensure we deliver a first class service that safeguards our community and makes a real difference to people’s lives.”
