Dyfed Powys Police is supporting International Womens Day
International Women’s Day will be celebrated across the world on 8th March and this year’s theme is gender parity and working together to help accelerate the closing of the economic gender gap.
Deputy Chief Constable Liane James said
“Today, is a day to celebrate and thank those female Police Officers, Police Staff and Police Community Support officers for their dedication and commitment to serving the public, often in challenging roles 24 hours a day 7 days a week and also to celebrate the diversity and difference in policing that allows us to truly represent and engage with the much appreciated communities within the Dyfed- Powys policing area.
Nearly 31% of the officers working in Dyfed Powys police are females, and in the last intake 50% of recruits were females. Although we have a long way to go in getting the gender balance right within more senior ranks and roles, much progress has been made in recruiting highly talented females into the organisation.”
