By-Election To Be Held In Welshpool

Nominations for by-elections for a county council and town council ward in Welshpool open on Thursday 10 November 2016, Powys County Council has confirmed. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The election for the county council’s Welshpool Llanerchydol Ward and Welshpool Town Council’s Castle Ward are to be held following the death of Cllr Ann Holloway, who passed away last month (September). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Nomination Paper forms can be obtained from the Returning Officer at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells or by calling 01597 826747. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Nomination papers must be delivered in person to County Hall, Llandrindod Wells no later than 4pm on Friday 18 November, 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 15 December, 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Electors wanting to vote by post must have their postal application form with the Electoral Registration Officer at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells by 5pm on Wednesday 30 November 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Applications to vote by proxy must be made by 5pm on Wednesday 7 December 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Applications to vote by proxy on the grounds of physical incapacity or if your occupation, service or employment means you cannot go to a polling station after the above deadlines must be made by 5pm on Polling Day (Thursday 15 December). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
