Saturday Bulky Waste Service In Machynlleth
Machynlleth residents are reminded that the Saturday morning bulky waste service will operate on a fortnightly basis from Saturday 4 June.
A decision was taken by the council to reduce the Saturday bulky waste service in Machynlleth to fortnightly with a ban on unsorted domestic ‘black bag’ waste for a period of three months from 1 June and a complete withdrawal of the service from 1 September.
The final weekly collection will take place on Saturday 4 June, following this the service will operate fortnightly on the following dates:
• 18 June 2016
• 2 July 2016
• 16 July 2016
• 30 July 2016
• 13 August 2016
• 27 August 2016
Please note that unsorted domestic ‘black bag’ waste will not be accepted as it is important that residents fully utilise their kerbside collection service which allows householders to recycle a wide range of materials including plastics and cans, paper and card, glass and food waste. Larger items such as garden waste and large cardboard boxes, textiles and Tetrapak can be recycled at the community recycling site at Maengwyn Street car park.
