Appeal For Information Follows Double Cat Poisoning In Porth
An appeal for information has been launched, following the suspected poisoning of two cats in Porth.
RSPCA Cymru is also urging pet owners to be vigilant, after an owner – from Leslie Terrace in the town – lost both of her cats.
A local resident returned home on 28 January to find one of her cats dead, with veterinary inspection confirming her second cat had also been poisoned.
Following the incident, RSPCA Cymru is urging anyone with any information to come forward, and is also reminding pet owners to know what to do if they suspect a poisoning may have occurred.
Simon Evans, RSPCA Inspector, said:
“Our thoughts are with the owner of these two Porth cats, at this very difficult time.
“The circumstances behind how these cats may have consumed poison is unclear, but we’re eager for anyone who may know anything to come forward.
“Our inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018, with calls treated in confidence.
“It’s also important for cat owners in the Porth area to be vigilant at this time.
“Should a poisoning be suspected, it is vital that owners remain calm, remove their pet from any suspected poisonous source, and immediately contact their vet.”
