Cat Found In Holywell With Serious Eye Injury

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after a cat with a serious eye injury was found near Holywell. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The cat believed to possibly be a Persian-cross or Chinchilla type, was found on Monday, 21 March at Allt-Y-Plas, Pentre Halkyn. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

RSPCA animal collection officer (ACO) Malwina Gasiorek said: “This poor cat had a serious eye injury and was given emergency treatment at the vets. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Sadly she had to have the eye removed, but she is now in our care at RSPCA Bryn-y-Maen animal centre and is doing well. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“She is not microchipped so unfortunately we are not able to track down her owner. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Anyone who may have information about her owner should contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018. Calls are treated in confidence.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

If her owner is not found, the cat named who has been nicknamed Gabby, will be rehomed. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The RSPCA would like to remind people to get their pets microchipped to give their lost pets the chance of returning home. It is also important to register the chip with a national database and update your contact details if you move or change phone number.
