Delyn AM Goes Out On Call With RSPCA Inspector

ASSEMBLY Member for Delyn, Hannah Blythyn, has accompanied RSPCA inspector Jenny Anderton on several calls in and around the region. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The ride-along on Tuesday (9 August) gave Miss Blythyn a chance to experience what RSPCA inspectors deal with on a day-to-day basis. Throughout the course of a busy day, they dealt with a number of routine calls. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Miss Blythyn said: “The day was a great opportunity to experience first-hand what happens on the ground and the great job RSPCA officers, staff and volunteers do – spending time shadowing the inspector on home calls as well as visiting the animal centre in Colwyn Bay. I look forward to building on this experience and taking forward any issues raised locally in down in the Senedd.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

RSPCA inspector Jenny Anderton said: “I was very pleased to have the opportunity to demonstrate to the work that the RSPCA’s inspectorate do each and every day to help and protect animals across the Mold, Holywell, and Flint area. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“The RSPCA receives approximately 1.3 million calls each year and the breadth of visits made on this particular day highlights the diversity of issues we deal with in the interests of animal welfare.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
