Driver Witnesses Two Young Boys Kick Cat Into Air At Penllergaer, Swansea
RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after a cat was seen being kicked by two young boys in Penllergaer, Swansea.
A driver was passing the green in Penllergaer, Swansea, and saw the black and white cat being kicked by two boys, aged around nine or 10 years old. The incident took place on Tuesday at around 12pm (12 April).
RSPCA animal welfare officer (AWO) Paula Milton said: “Shockingly the witness said the poor cat was kicked so hard he flew in the air.
“The driver took the injured cat, who couldn’t put any weight on her back legs and was screaming, to a veterinary surgery.”
At the vets, the cat was found to have had broken the top of his leg following an X-ray and will need an operation.
AWO Milton added: “Anyone who may have information about this incident should contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018. Calls are treated in confidence.
“One of the young boys had brown hair and a red hoodie on.”
Unfortunately the cat has not been microchipped, so we are not able to track down his owner. Anyone who has any information about the owner can also call our appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
The RSPCA would like to remind people to get their pets microchipped to give their lost pets the chance of returning home. It is also important to register the chip with a national database and update your contact details if you move or change phone number.
