Injured Cat Found In Engine In Penarth: RSPCA Cymru Appeal For Information

RSPCA Cymru is trying to track down the owner of an injured cat who was found in a car engine. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The black cat, who isn’t microchipped, was found in a car engine in Penarth on Saturday (9 July). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

RSPCA animal welfare officer Sian Burton said: “We don’t know how long this cat was in this car for. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“She has a collar injury, is very thin and has scuffed nails. She is very friendly and is doing well in our care at RSPCA Merthyr Tydfil Clinic. She is around two to three years old.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Unfortunately as she was not microchipped the RSPCA is unable to trace her owner. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“She may very well have an owner who is desperately looking for her, so we hope we can find out who it is.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Microchipping your pet gives them the best chance of being identified and returned to you if they become lost or are stolen. But microchipping is only effective if pet owners make sure their contact details are correct. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The RSPCA would like to remind people to get their pets microchipped to give their lost pets the chance of returning home.
