RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information to try and find out the owners of several horses that have been removed from Gelligaer Common.
On Tuesday (26 April) RSPCA Cymru along with charity Redwings and Caerphilly County Borough Council attended to specific horses that were of concern on Gelligaer and Merthyr Common.
Seven horses and a foal were removed from Gelligaer Common. These horses were subject to potential animal welfare offences. Two vets were also in attendance and confirmed that the horses were deemed fit to travel.
RSPCA inspector Christine McNeil said: “We are appealing for information to try and track down who these horses belong too.
At this time the horses are in a place of safety and are receiving treatment. The welfare and future of these horses are of paramount importance to the RSPCA.
