Two Dogs Dumped In Serious Condition In Swansea

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after two dogs were found in a serious condition, dumped in a metal basket in a Swansea park. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The two dogs – one a pug type dog and the other mastiff cross – were found at Ravenhill Park on Sunday morning (30 October). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Both dogs were taken to an independent vets for immediate treatment. Sadly due to her condition a decision was made by the vet for the pug to be put to sleep to prevent her from suffering further. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The other dog, who has been named Henry, is receiving treatment for a skin condition. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

RSPCA inspector Keith Hogben said: “Both of these dogs were found in a poor condition and needed urgent veterinary treatment. Sadly the pug was in such a state the vet made the decision to put her to sleep. The eight-week-old had a serious skin condition and there were concerns with her heart. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Poor Henry has an awful skin condition, but now he is receiving veterinary treatment we hope it will improve. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
