Two French Bulldog Pups Found Abandoned In Pontypool Cardboard Box

A pair of terrified French bulldog puppies have been rescued by RSPCA Cymru, after being found in a cardboard box in Pontypool Park on Saturday 12 November. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The two male pups were found – with many of their bones visible – by a member of the public walking his own dogs in Pontypool, who then contacted the RSPCA. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

After their rescue, both dogs underwent veterinary treatment, having been found both very underweight and with extensive skin problems. The pair seemed depressed, and exceptionally frightened. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Neither dog was microchipped, and RSPCA Cymru is eager for members of the public to come forward with any information detailing how they may have been dumped in this condition. Fortunately, the pups have recovered well, and are now safely in a boarding establishment. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

RSPCA inspector Simon Evans said: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“These poor puppies were absolutely terrified, and it beggars belief that someone would dump them in such a sorry state – treating them like rubbish in a cardboard box. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“We are appealing for information from anyone who may know something about the circumstances in which these helpless pups were abandoned. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
