*Warning Picture May Be Found Distressing* RSPCA Cymru Launch Appeal For Information After Emaciated Dog Found In Risca
RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after an emaciated and seriously unwell dog was found in Risca.
The sandy white dog was found straying in Frenlea, Risca, on Sunday (4 September) in an extremely poor and emaciated condition.
A kind passer by took the dog to a vets and the RSPCA were notified.
Following an examination by the local independent vet, the extremely thin dog was found to have a severe heart murmur and her legs were buckling underneath her.
Sadly despite the vet’s best efforts over a 24-hour period, a decision was made by the vet for the dog to be put to sleep to prevent her from suffering further.
RSPCA inspector Annie Simmonds said: “This is such a sad incident. This poor dog – aged around nine years – was in a considerable amount of pain and she was extremely emaciated.
“She didn’t have a collar or microchip, so we don’t know who she belongs to or where she has come from.
