Get A Head Start With Wrexham Glyndwr University’s Week-Long Course For Free
Wrexham Glyndwr University is offering learners to get a head start on the path towards higher education success.
The institution is holding a free week-long introduction to higher education across three counties.
The one-week module aims to help prepare learners who have applied for any university, or are thinking of applying, for this September.
The module, Looking Forward to Higher Education, was launched on Monday, July 11 in Connah’s Quay Library and will be held there from 10am-2pm until July 15.
Sarah Gaffney, Wrexham Glyndwr University’s widening access co-ordinator, said: “The course is a perfect preparation platform for level 2/3 students who have applied or are applying to university, and also for those in, or seeking, employment who are in two minds or not sure whether university is for them or not.”
The course will also be held in Wrexham at Caia Park Partnership from July 18-22, 10am-2pm and in Rhyl College from July 25-29 at the same times.
There is no obligation to sign up for a place at university, and the course includes a trip to Wrexham Glyndwr University to experience a day as a student.
No formal qualifications are required to join the free module, but participants must be aged 17 or over and numerate and literate with a good standard of English.

By successfully completing the course learners will receive a 10 credit bearing Wrexham Glyndwr University module transcript at an undergraduate level.
The module will be assessed through group essay work and by oral presentation which can be also included in an UCAS application.
