Wrexham Named Happiest Place To Live In Wales, Second Happiest In The UK, In New Survey
Students in Wrexham are living in the happiest town in Wales and second happiest in the UK, according to a new survey.
The biggest town in North East Wales ranked in the top 10 of every category the Unbroken Britain report by providentpersonalcredit.com
2,642 people were asked to rank aspects of life in their community on a scale of 1-10, with Wrexham placed second behind Worcester for ‘Happiness.’
Wrexham was named as the best place in the UK for ‘Area Keep Up’ and in the top 10 for being ‘Welcoming’, ‘Friendly’, ‘Polite’ and ‘Safe.’ Residents surveyed also ensured the town placed third in Britain for ‘Trust’ and ‘Gossip’.
Professor Maria Hinfelaar, Vice-Chancellor of Wrexham Glyndwr University, said: “We’re of course delighted to see Wrexham named as one of the happiest places to live in Britain.
“But we’re not at all surprised, with the community spirit it has as well as its location as a gateway to some of the most spectacular scenery in Wales.”
The new survey comes just months after Wrexham Glyndwr University was named in the top 10 most affordable places to study in the UK by price comparison website gocompare.com
Students studying at the university can expect to pay £16,864 a year for their studies and living costs.
The Degree of Value survey ranked universities based on the price of nine different factors – tuition fees, university accommodation, and the cost of travel, socialising, books, food, clothes, gym and laundry.
Courses and lecturers at Wrexham Glyndwr University have also recently been named among the best in the UK in a new survey of more than 26,000 students by the WhatUni website.
Professor Hinfelaar added: “The combined outcome of these surveys shows that Wrexham is a great place to study and live and will set students on the pathway to a bright future.”
