Techniques to help reduce the estimated £19 billion lost every year in the UK due to ineffective management will be highlighted in a CMI Cymru leadership event in Wrexham. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

‘NLP: The Leader’s Secret Weapon’ at Wrexham Glyndwr University on Wednesday 18 January 2017 will explore the world of Neuro Linguistic Programming. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Led by NLP expert Laura Evans, the session is designed for managers, leaders, directors and business owners who want to help their teams get even better results. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

NLP is a set of techniques and a way of thinking that helps communicate more effectively, build rapport and better relate to others in a way that works for them. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Behaviour, language and emotions are unconscious processes (most of the time), so a better understanding of how this works and how we can adapt and make changes to ourselves, can be the key to becoming more effective leaders. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Laura Evans spent 15 years in HR and training roles in industry before starting to study NLP in 2008. She is now a Master NLP Coach and International Trainer of NLP, running her own company, Unleash Your Potential. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Claire Blanchard, Principal Lecturer in Marketing and Management at Wrexham Glyndwr University, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Laura and the CMI to the University for what promises to be an informative, interactive and entertaining evening. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“Laura has a strong track record within her field, helping companies to get the best from their employees, and will no doubt offer some fascinating insights into how leaders and managers can improve performance.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Entry to the workshop is free via registration and no prior knowledge of NLP or communication skills, simply come with an attitude of curiosity and a willingness to learn. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The event runs from 6pm to 8pm at the Catrin Finch Centre, Wrexham Glyndwr University. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
