Open Call – Statutory Services
There has been a growing expectation recently on communities to take responsibility for local services as a result of cuts to the public purse. In light of the above, Arloesi Gwynedd Wledig (AGW) is keen to work with communities in Gwynedd to research, trial and learn about different models of providing non statutory services.
Arloesi Gwynedd Wledig Manager, Zoe Pritchard, said: “We welcome applications from communities who are willing and eager to cooperate, who are also interested in the transfer of local government services to communities. The aim will be to trial the work in three communities, with the aim of contributing towards creating community initiatives which would develop mechanisms for the provision of future services.
“You are welcome to contact the Arloesi team for a chat. Applications will need to be submitted by 5 September, 2016.”
Arloesi Gwynedd Wledig is the name given to the LEADER project in Gwynedd. This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agriculture Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government. It’s also part funded by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and Gwynedd Council.
