Summer Holiday Activities For Families In Maesgeirchen

Gwynedd’s Communities 1st programme have organised a variety of activities ongoing through the summer holidays, free of charge, located at the Youth and Community Centre on the Maesgeirchen estate in Bangor. Communities 1st have been working in partnership with Dechrau’n Deg to organise a Family Fun Session in the Youth Centre on 22July from 10am-12pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The session will be on the green space outside the centre (weather permitting) where there will be a bouncy castle, face-painting, arts and crafts, and a healthy eating session. Dechrau’n Deg is keen to invite families with pre-school children along and children must be accompanied by an adult when attending the session. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Urdd will also be delivering sports sessions in the youth centre with an Olympic Theme. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The session will be run on Friday 22July from 10am-12pm. This session will be for children aged 6, 7 & 8 years and will be free of charge. A maximum of 30 children can attend the session, if you are interested in your child attending; you must register prior to the session. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Urdd will be running another Olympic Sport session in the Youth Centre on 29 July from 10am – 12pm for children aged 9, 10 & 11 years. Children must be registered for this session prior to the day. If you are interested in your child attending, you must register beforehand. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Groundworks will also be visiting the estate to deliver four fun filled sessions in the Youth Centre which will include: den building, sports & games, messy play, water play and arts and crafts. These sessions are available to children and young people of any age. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The sessions will be delivered on: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Wednesday 10 August from 10am-12pm.
Wednesday 17 August from 10am-12pm.
Wednesday 24 August from 10am-12pm.
Wednesday 31 August from 10am-12pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
