A Safer Summer In North Wales
Over the summer North Wales Police will be working with partners to help keep people safe.
Across the country the warmer summer months can see a rise in such crimes as burglary, as residents leave their homes insecure, alcohol–related crime, as more people are out and about, domestic violence and traffic related incidents.
The Force will be focusing on these areas as well as promoting online safety advice for parents and children during the school holidays and encouraging the public to seek advice and information from the appropriate agency or council, so reducing the demand on police staff for non–police matters.
Chief Supt Sacha Hatchett said: “We want everyone to have an enjoyable and safe summer, but also to take responsibility to keep themselves and their property safe.
“People need to look after themselves and those that they’re with when out and about socialising, to look after their property through basic security measures and to look out for their children’s welfare through online security.
“Drinking too much puts people in vulnerable situations, making them more likely to commit or become a victim of crime. Alcohol-fuelled incidents also put a strain on all the emergency services and alcohol is often a key factor in domestic violence.
“We will deal robustly with anyone involved in such incidents.
“Our officers and PCSOs will be patrolling our towns and villages to make sure that we are visible and there for or communities. North Wales is a safe place and we are working hard to keep it that way.”
