Appeal Following Double Fatal In Llandwrog

Police are appealing for witnesses following a double fatal road traffic collision on the A499 near Llandwrog last night. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At 8.24pm on Friday 1st April police were called to the collision on the A499 near the junction leading to Llandwrog, involving a blue Nissan Micra and a silver Vauxhall Vectra. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The male driver and female passenger travelling in the Nissan Micra were sadly pronounced dead at the scene. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The male driver of the Vauxhall Vectra was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd with serious injuries, and the male passenger in the same car suffered minor injuries. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The A499 was closed for several hours whilst an investigation into the collision took place. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have with information relating to the incident to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number U046650.
