Appeal following serious collision in Bradley, Wrexham

Two people are currently in hospital with serious life threatening injuries following a collision near Bradley during the early hours of this morning (Saturday, 6th February). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At 02:33 police were informed of a one vehicle collision involving a blue Vauxhall Corsa on Llay New Road whereby the vehicle collided with a tree. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Fire and Ambulance Service were called to the scene as well as North Wales Police’ Collision Investigation Unit. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Six young men, believed to be in their late teens or early twenties were in the vehicle – the driver, and another man have since been transferred to hospital in Stoke with serious life threatening injuries. Their condition is currently described as critical. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

One was taken to the Countess of Chester of Chester Hospital with serious injuries and the other three have suffered what is believed to be minor injuries. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sergeant Jane Thomas from the Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the blue-coloured Vauxhall Corsa being driven prior to the collision to contact us. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Our enquiries are ongoing and anybody with information is asked to contact us on 101.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The road was closed and re-opened shortly after 9am. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
