Barmouth Greenhouse Project Completed
The future is now green in Barmouth as youngsters celebrate the completion of their bottle greenhouse.
It has taken over 40 children just under 8months to build a greenhouse with nearly 1000 plastic bottles.
And now the finished product has been transported to the grounds of Ysgol y Traeth in Barmouth, where crop planting has already begun.
Thanks to funding from the High Sherif’s Crimebeat Fund and assistance from L and L DIY and Huws Gray builders merchants, PCSO Darren Walters and the youngsters from Barmouth Youth Club were able to build the greenhouse
PCSO Walters explained: “The idea of the project was to get the police to integrate with the young people, as well as to raise the profile of the youth club, which is in danger of closing.”
“It has resulted in a lot of community involvement and it has been great in getting everyone to work together on what has turned out to be an excellent project.”
“It is something that has brought the school and the youth club closer together and it is a project the youngsters can build on for the future.”
