Pedestrian Dies Following Collision: Appeal
North Wales Police can confirm that a man has sadly died following a collision in Broughton over the weekend.
Shortly after 9:30pm on Saturday, January 7th police received a report of a collision involving a Ford Transit van and a pedestrian on the A5104 in Broughton at the junction with Queensway.
The emergency services attended the scene and the road was immediately closed. The male pedestrian was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital by ambulance; however he sadly died during the early hours of this morning (Monday, January 9th).
Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from North Wales Police’ Roads Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this time and they are now being supported by a Family Liaison Officer.
“We would like to speak to anyone who may have been within the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or to anybody who may have seen the pedestrian or van prior to the incident, to contact us.”
The road re-opened at 01:30 on Sunday, January 8th.
