Concern for missing woman

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the whereabouts of a 57-year-old woman who has been missing from her Caernarfon home since Friday 1st April. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Averil Whitfield is described as being white, of slight build with ginger/red hair worn in a bob. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police enquiries have revealed a possible sighting of Averil walking next to the roundabout on the A487 near Tesco, Caernarfon at about 9am on April 1st. She was wearing a three-quarter length black coat with the hood up. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Investigations continue to try and trace Averil, and anybody who may have information is asked to contact North Wales Police. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sergent Rhys Gough said: “If anybody knows of Averil’s whereabouts please contact us immediately. Equally we are appealing direct to Averil to make contact with us to let us know that she is safe and well.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
