Driver Arrested For Drug Driving On The ‘Evo Triangle’ Route
A man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving in Cerrigydrudion yesterday afternoon (Sunday April 10th).
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit were routinely patrolling the B4501, known commonly as the ‘Evo Triangle,’ as part of their Operation Darwen deployment, when the man was spotted driving at excess speed.
He was subsequently stopped, spoken to and later arrested after failing the roadside swipe test after testing positive for cannabis.
The 30-year-old man, who is from the Shropshire area, has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from the Roads Policing Unit said: “North Wales Police are fully aware of the concerns surrounding speeding vehicles travelling along the EVO triangle route It is an area which is regularly policed, is also a ‘Go Safe’ route and it features in deployment plans for Operation Darwen – a seasonal campaign aimed at reducing the number of deaths on the roads.
“We would urge anybody who witnesses anti-social driving or riding, or anybody who may have concerns about that particular stretch of road to contact us.”
