Fatal Collision In Pontblyddyn: Appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Flintshire last night (Tuesday, March 15th). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At 21:50hrs police were informed of a one vehicle collision involving a red VW Bora on the A541 at Pontblyddyn. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Fire and Ambulance Service were called to the scene as well as North Wales Police’ Collision Investigation Unit. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

One occupant in the vehicle, a 31-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sergeant Jane Thomas from the Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the red VW Bora travelling on the A541 last night from Wrexham towards the Mold direction to come forward. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Our enquiries are ongoing and anybody with information is asked to contact us on 101.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Anybody with information should contact officers at the Eastern Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U037724. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

North Wales Police are not yet in a position to release the details of the deceased. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
