Fatal Road Traffic Collision Anglesey

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a Fatal Road Traffic Collision at Trefor near Holyhead this morning, Tuesday 5th April 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sergeant Ray Williams of the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said “Shortly after 7.40am this morning North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a road traffic collision on the B5109 at Trefor (crossroads), near Holyhead involving a silver Ford Transit van and pedal cycle. Sadly the cyclist passed away at the scene. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“A full investigation is underway and we’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or events leading up to it to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote U048417.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

North Wales Police are still at the scene and there are likely to be delays in the area for some time. Sergeant Williams concluded “We are advising motorists to seek alternate routes where possible or allow extra time for your journey if unavoidable but to check first with Traffic Wales, local radio or Social Media for further updates”. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
