Fire in Llandudno Junction – update 3

Emergency services remain at the scene at a commercial property on Vale Road, Llandudno Junction after a fire that occurred yesterday evening (Thursday 18th February). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At its height over 40 firefighters were in attendance tackling the fire which is now under control but crews remain present whilst damping down. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Smoke remains in the area this morning therefore the public are advised to keep windows and doors closed in nearby areas. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service are working closely together with Scottish Power to return power to the area so that residents who were evacuated as a precaution can return to their properties and so that businesses can get back to normal.Structural engineers are working to assess the safety of the stricken building. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

An investigation will be conducted today to establish the cause of the fire. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
