Gwynedd And Anglesey Volunteer Cadet Recruitment
North Wales Police are currently recruiting Volunteer Police Cadets in Gwynedd and Anglesey.
The scheme aims to recruit a group of students ages 13-16 to take part in the two year programme.
During term times, the team will meet on a weekday evening for a training session and in addition each Cadet may volunteer each month to assist local policing and community initiatives. The weekly meeting will follow a national programme of leadership, team building and an introduction to police studies.
North Wales Police have been involved in the VPC since 2005, with the first Cadets successfully completing their two-year programme in June 2007. Since then, several successful VPC programmes have been delivered by North Wales Police.
The overall aims of the North Wales Police Cadet Programme are to promote a true understanding of policing amongst all young people, encourage the spirit of adventure and good citizenship, support local policing priorities through volunteering and give young people a chance to be heard and to inspire young people to participate positively in their communities. From this weekend, the unit can emerge stronger as a whole and encourage those individuals who may currently be less confident and self-assured. This will benefit the both the unit and wider community as a whole.
PCSO Jonathan Peris-Jones will be holding several drop in session where you can drop by and ask any questions you have about the cadet programme. The sessions are listed below:
