Incident Factory Road Sandycroft ends peacefully

During the afternoon of Sunday 28th February 2016 North Wales Police officers discovered evidence of cannabis cultivation in a premises in the Factory Road area of Sandycroft, Deeside. As a result 4 men aged between their mid-20’s and early 50’s were arrested in connection with the find. They remain in Police custody. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Shortly after 9am this morning, Monday 29th February 2016, officers called at another address in Factory Road to carry out an arrest connected to the cannabis cultivation but the occupant refused to come out and made threats towards the officers. No one has been injured and no one else was in the premises. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police Officers “contained” the address with the intention of protecting the public and safely detaining the man. Specialist negotiators attended the scene to assist resolve the matter peacefully and return the area to normality as soon as practicable. As a result of these negotiations the occupant, a local man in his early 40’s, gave himself up to officers and was arrested. He has been taken to a local Police Station for questioning. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Supt Alex Goss North Wales Police said “The incident concluded peacefully and no one was injured. I’d like to pass on our thanks to the local community for their patience and understanding during this time. Police resources were quickly deployed to the scene and our objective of protecting the public and resolving the incident peacefully was achieved.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
