Incident On Ruabon Rd Near The Brandie Brook Area

Emergency services are in attendance at an incident on Ruabon Rd, near the Brandie Brook area of Johnstown. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police were called to the incident at 10.19hrs this morning (Sunday 12 February). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Superintendent Alex Goss said: “This incident is ongoing. Police officers have been in attendance trying to intervene in an attempted suicide situation involving a man in his thirties. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“All efforts were made to save the man’s life – he was taken to hospital but subsequently died. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“A police officer has sustained injuries in the incident and is receiving treatment in hospital. His injuries are not believed to be serious. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Emergency services will remain at the scene whilst police carry out further enquiries. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Ruabon Road is closed in both directions in the vicinity of Moreton Inn.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
