Man Charged Following Barmouth Assault

North Wales Police have charged a 45 year old local man following an assault in Barmouth on Tuesday 6th December. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Insp Dewi Jones at Porthmadog Police Station said “At about 11.30pm on Tuesday 6th December a 35 year old local man was assaulted in King Edward Street, Barmouth close to the Spar store. Although serious, his injuries are fortunately not life threatening and he remains in a stable condition in a south Wales hospital. Local officers responded quickly and a another local man was arrested nearby.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Despite an individual being charged and subsequently remanded an investigation is underway and we’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and can assist us piece together the full picture of events. Violent crimes are fortunately rare in this area and with the continued help and support of our local communities we must ensure it stays that way.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
