PC 2952 Iain Clarke – Special Case Hearing

On March 17th 2017 a special case police misconduct hearing was convened at Police Headquarters in Colwyn Bay for Police Constable 2952 Iain Clarke. This hearing was held in private and chaired by temporary Chief Constable Gareth Pritchard. The officer faced an allegation following a conviction for a rape offence at Mold Crown Court on February 15th 2017, for which he was sentenced to five years imprisonment on Thursday March 16th 2017. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The officer did not contest the allegation that he had breached a Standard of Professional Behavior relating to discreditable conduct (gross misconduct) and the temporary Chief Constable determined that the officer should be dismissed from North Wales Police immediately and without notice. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
