Serious Collision In Upper Bangor: Man Arrested
A man has been seriously injured following a collision in Upper Bangor earlier today (Thursday, September 29th).
At 12:16 North Wales Police were informed of a collision involving a blue-coloured BMW car and a pedestrian on Holyhead Road.
The vehicle made off from the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd by ambulance with serious injuries.
Police enquiries immediately began and officers later traced the driver of the car.
The 33-year-old man, who is local to the Bangor area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, aggravated unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle and Section 18 wounding. He currently remains in police custody.
The road was closed whilst the initial investigation was carried out and re-opened shortly after 2pm.
