Serious collision on A494: Appeal
An elderly woman has sustained serious life threatening injuries following a collision on the A494 yesterday afternoon (Thursday 25th February).
Shortly before 4:30pm police received a report of a three vehicle collision on the A494 between Glanrafon and Bala involving a Mercedes, a Renault Modus and a Honda.
Emergency services attended and the road was immediately closed.
As a result of the collision the front seat passenger of the Renault was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital by ambulance with serious life threatening injuries. No other person was injured.
The driver of the Mercedes failed a roadside drugs swipe test and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and for causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The 32-year-old man has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The road was re-opened at 11pm.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U027570.
