Serious Injury Collision Near Dolgellau

Three people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic collision near Dolgellau this afternoon (Tuesday, October 25th). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Shortly before 2pm police were notified of a two-vehicle collision involving an 07 plated blue coloured Vauxhall Corsa and a green coloured Suzuki Vitara on the A487 on the top of Talyllyn Pass. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

All three emergency services were in attendance including two Air Ambulances. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Two occupants from the Vauxhall Corsa and the driver of the Vitara have been taken to hospitals including Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Ysbyty Gwynedd and Ysbyty Bronglais. The driver of the Vitara is described as having sustained what is believed to be life threatening injuries and the other two have sustained serious injuries. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sergeant Jason Diamond, North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or to anybody who saw either vehicle prior to the collision to contact us immediately.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
