Zero Tolerance for Dog Fouling and Littering
A zero tolerance towards dog fouling and littering is now in effect across the county borough.
From Wednesday, (06.04.16) Kingdom, the environment protection company, will have officers on the streets and parks throughout Wrexham who will be handing out £75.00 fines on the spot to anyone who drops litter or who refuses to pick up after their dogs foul.
Dog foul should be bagged and put into any general waste bin. Litter should be taken home and binned or put into any available litter bin.
Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said:
“We all want to see a cleaner and greener Wrexham yet there are those who refuse to acknowledge that we all have to play a part in making sure we get one. Those who refuse to clean up after their dogs foul or who drop litter are now at a greater risk of being handed a £75.00 fine, there will be no warnings issued as the time has now come to clamp down hard on those who continue to offend. Those who pick up after their dogs foul or don’t drop litter have nothing to fear about the new arrangements.”
