Award For Council’s Family Information Service
Bridgend County Borough Council has achieved an award in recognition of the high standards provided by its Family Information Service.
The free service lets parents access a wide range of useful information, from classes and groups for new Mums and Dads, to childcare provision, and those all-important summer activities that help keep children entertained and active during holiday times.
The council has been rewarded for its efforts by becoming the first local authority in Wales to receive the revised Families First Quality Award from the Family and Childcare Trust.
The council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Social Services and Equalities, Councillor Hailey Townsend, said: “We are proud that the Family Information Service, which is provided by our Childcare team, has been rated so highly. It is always on hand to provide local families with a wealth of useful information about the services and support that is available for them locally.
“As well as being extremely exciting, becoming a parent can also be an overwhelming time, so it is vitally important for us to make it as easy as possible for parents to access the services they need.”
