Bonfire Night And Firework Displays In Bridgend County Borough

A number of firework displays will be held in Bridgend County Borough this November for spectators to enjoy. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

• Friday 4 November – Fireworks light and sound show, Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School, Brackla. Gates open 6:30pm, show starts approx 7pm until 8pm. No sparklers allowed. Cost: £1 per adult, children free. Pay on gate or buy tickets in advance from Brackla Community Council office, side entrance of Oak Tree Surgery, Mon to Friday, 10am – 4pm. Event sponsored by Brackla Community Council.
• Saturday 5 November – Fireworks at rugby club fields, Felindre Road, Pencoed. Starts at 6:15pm. FREE. Display organised by Pencoed Town Council.
• Saturday 5 November – Fireworks and fairground rides at Bryntirion Community Centre. Fun starts at 6:30pm with fireworks from 7pm. FREE. Organised by Laleston Community Council.
• Saturday 5 November – Fireworks display at Coity Castle, 6:30pm start. Tickets cost £5 per person and can be bought in advance from the Post Office on Heol West Plas, Coity.
• Saturday 5 November – Big Bang Display, Hi Tide Inn, Porthcawl. 7pm – 9pm. FREE. Display organised by The Hi Tide Inn.
• Sunday 6 November – Fireworks at Heol Y Cyw playing fields. Starts at 6:30pm. FREE. Display organised by Coychurch Higher Community Council.

Make sure you stay safe this bonfire night with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ (RoSPA) top ten safety code: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

• Plan your firework display to make it safe and enjoyable.
• Keep fireworks in a closed box and use them one at a time.
• Read and follow the instructions on each firework using a torch if necessary.
• Light the firework at arm’s length with a taper and stand well back.
• Keep naked flames, including cigarettes, away from fireworks.
• Never return to a firework once it has been lit.
• Don’t put fireworks in pockets and never throw them.
• Direct any rocket fireworks well away from spectators.
• Never use paraffin or petrol on a bonfire.
• Make sure that the fire is out and surroundings are made safe before leaving.
