Charter Sets Out How Local Councils Will Work Together
A special agreement has been signed which aims to bring the different tiers of local government in Bridgend County Borough closer together so that services can be improved for residents.
The newly revised ‘Town and Community Council Charter’ is a commitment made by Bridgend County Borough Council in partnership with the various town councils and community councils.
Councillor Huw David, Bridgend County Borough Council’s Deputy Leader, said: “Given the considerable budget pressures being faced by local government, it is vitally important that we work together to tackle the challenges ahead.
“The charter sets out how we will work more closely than ever in partnership and share good practice to deliver the best possible value for money services in our communities.”
The charter was updated following the publishing of the Welsh Government’s White Paper ‘Reforming Local Government: Power to Local People’, and will be reviewed annually.
