Drop-In Session Asks For Views On Coastal Flooding And Erosion
Porthcawl residents are being invited to attend a drop-in session next week which will look at the risk of coastal flooding and erosion at Sandy Bay and along the Eastern Promenade.
Organised by Bridgend County Borough Council, the session will take place at the Rock Inn in John Street on Tuesday 6 December between 1.30pm – 7.30pm.
Residents will be able to find out more about and take part in a study which will help determine whether further improvements need to be made to guard against the future risk of flooding.
The council is particularly keen to hear from people who may have previously experienced coastal flooding and erosion in the Porthcawl area, especially if they have photographs.
Councillor Ceri Reeves, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “The Welsh Government is looking to invest in coastal defences at a number of key locations across Wales.
“This study forms an important part of identifying feasible solutions to a possible rise in future sea levels, so I hope that as many people as possible will come to the session and share their thoughts and experiences.”
