Little Helpers Invited To Take Part In Elfsteddfod

‘Little helpers’ are invited along to the annual Elfsteddfod in Bridgend town centre on Saturday 10 December for an attempt at the ‘Elf-conga’ word record! ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Organised by Bridgend County Borough Council, the fun event will take place on Adare Street from 1pm onwards and will also feature elf workshops, face painting, a chance to stand inside a giant Christmas bauble, and an appearance from ‘Bruce Airhead’, who found fame on Britain’s Got Talent! ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Everyone is asked to come to the Elfsteddfod dressed in a red or green jumper if possible, and the first 1,000 elves will be given a free hat. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Don’t forget that Santa’s Grotto will open once again in Carnegie House on Wyndham Street on Saturday 3, 10 and 17 December from 10am to 4pm. A visit to the grotto costs £5 per child and includes an opportunity to take a photo plus a choice of gift. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

All proceeds will be distributed to local charities by the Bridgend Lions Club, and grotto visits can be pre-booked at www.carnegiehouse.co.uk ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Shoppers are also reminded that they can park for free after 10am on weekends in council-run pay and display car parks, including the new Rhiw multi-storey in Bridgend, throughout December. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Free weekend parking will be offered in Bridgend town centre in Brackla Street, Tremains Road, The Bowls Hall, Tondu Road and Cheapside. The John Street and Hillsboro Place car parks in Porthcawl town centre will also be free, but charges will still apply at Rest Bay, the Halo car park at Bridgend Life Centre, and Bryngarw House and Country Park. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
