Mayor Of Caerphilly Presents Award To CCTV Team
Caerphilly County Borough Council’s CCTV Team were recently presented with an award by the Mayor of Caerphilly for their CCTV system during a ceremony in Caerphilly Council’s Chamber.
The CCTV Team were presented with the award in recognition of their CCTV system, which scooped a prestigious award at the CCTV User Group’s annual conference.
Caerphilly’s CCTV system won the Recognising Excellence – CCTV Management and Innovation award as a result of works to transfer the CCTV cameras which are currently transmitted via BT fibre onto the Public Sector Broadband Aggregation (PSBA) network.
The PSBA network carries a potential saving of £40,000 per year for Caerphilly Council, as well as allowing for a more flexible approach to CCTV, as cameras can be moved to different locations more readily.
Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member with responsibility for public protection said: “The new CCTV system deserves high praise indeed, as it is now easier to move and add cameras throughout the borough, providing that they are on the PSBA network. I am delighted that Caerphilly County Borough Council’s CCTV system has received such a prestigious award”.
