Miramar At Blackwood Miners’ Institute

Blackwood Miners’ Institute hosts Miramar on Tuesday 14th June at 7:30pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Miramar is a bilingual, darkly funny production which questions what is ‘home’. The play follows 74 year old Enid who is forced to sell the house she has lived in for most of her life. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Enid watches as her former home is transformed into a holiday home by its new owners. They renovate it, rename it and finally return to the city, leaving the house empty. Enid, now homeless, decides to take matters into her own hands. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
