New Website With A Focus On Well-Being
Pupils at Lewis School Pengam joined older people from the local community to help promote a new website offering residents everything they need to know about well-being in Wales.
The website – called DEWIS (www.dewis.wales) – is a new resource that has been created to support the well-being of our community. It provides information, advice and contact details for a network of social care, health and voluntary organisations
Young and older members of a popular ‘Intergenerational Club’ helped promote the new website at a recent meeting held at Lewis School Pengam. Over 50 residents and pupils were present at the event and helped raise awareness about the benefits DEWIS can bring.
A spokesman for Caerphilly county borough council said, “DEWIS is a very valuable resource for anyone wanting information, advice or help about anything to do with wellbeing in the community. The website offers lots of information, all in one place, about local organisations and services that can help local people”
Local organisations and service providers can also add their own details to the DEWIS website in order to promote their services or events etc.
Dewis Cymru currently has local information for North Wales, Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil. The site will now be rolled out across local authorities in the Gwent region.
