Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Volunteer Service is looking for individuals who believe they can make a change to a vulnerable adult’s life. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The volunteer service provides social support to vulnerable adults across Caerphilly in a number of different ways, such as, one to one support in a person’s own home, helping individuals to access leisure activities, or in a group setting, such as social clubs, residential homes or a community base. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Just 30 minutes a week can make a positive change to somebody’s life. Volunteers are supported and guided every step of the way, from initial application, induction and throughout the time they deliver their role. Training opportunities are available for those who wish to take part. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr. Robin Woodyatt, cabinet Member for Social Services Said: “The Volunteering Service provides a vital service to some of the most vulnerable adults in our society. The work of volunteers is extremely important, each individual brings a unique set of skills and warmth of personality which means so much to those they support. Volunteering is as much about the volunteers as it is service users and I’m always pleased to see volunteers making friends, gaining skills and having new experiences whilst helping others. I would encourage anybody who thinks they have the time and skills to contact the team for a non-committal, informal chat”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
