Llangadog Recycling Centre To Close March 24
The recycling centre in Llangadog will close on Friday, March 24.
Director of Environment Ruth Mullen said: “The council has been advised that AWS intend to close the Llangadog recycling site on March 24 at 5pm.
“The company has stated their reason for not keeping the site open until the 31st is due to potential additional costs with regard to decommissioning and disposal of waste past this date.
“The council is extremely disappointed that AWS is not prepared to fulfil their contractual obligations to keep the site open for use until March 31 and are working hard to put in place alternative provision as soon as possible.”
Alternative arrangements have been made to provide recycling banks for residents at Llandovery Rugby Club. The council is aiming for this new site to be open for April 1.
Black bag waste, garden waste, electricals and wood etc should be taken to the nearest recycling centre at Wernddu near Ammanford whilst the council looks at the longer-term provision for the area.
